Chysis bractescens is a species found in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua.
They can grow up to 50cm with an inflorescence up to 40cm, with typically up to 8 flowers on a tight cluster that are about 7cm in size.
It is recommended to give this species a drier Winter to initiate flowering.
Ideal conditions are
- low to medium light that is filtered,
- cool to warm locations
- in a well drained mix that dries before it is watered again.
They can be grown on a mount and is probably the best way to grow these to cater for it's growth habit.
