Epidendrum stamfordianum is established in a 50mm pot.

It is a species orchid found in Central America from southern Mexico to Panama. They are also found in Colombia and Venezuela.
The plants can grow up to 30cm's and have many long-lasting flowers per inflorescence in Spring. The flower inflorescence grows from the base of the orchid, and if they are cut before the new growth establishes, can abort the new growth.
This species is used in breeding to create good flower count and spots.
Ideal conditions are
- medium to bright light that is filtered,
- warm locations
- in a well drained mix that dries before it is watered again.
